GLAUCOMA
Glaucoma is one of the most common serious eye diseases, which leads to progressive weakening of the optic nerve due to increased intraocular pressure, resulting in vision loss. Glaucoma leaves irreversible damage to the optic nerve.
Glaucoma often does not give any symptoms until advanced stages and is a difficult disease to detect unless a doctor's examination is done. Glaucoma is a chronic eye disease with no characteristic symptoms, which progresses slowly but causes progressive eye damage.
Early diagnosis is of great importance in glaucoma. For this reason, people aged 40 and over should have regular eye examination and eye pressure measurement at least once a year.
In order to draw attention to glaucoma and to emphasize the importance of the issue, our patients who came to our hospital were informed and introductory brochures were distributed.
